Contents:
1. Capacitor to supercapacitor : an introduction / Praveen Pattathil, Nagarajan Sivakumar, and Theresa Sebastian Sonia -- 2. Electrochemical cell and thermodynamics / Jaya T. Varkey, P. Anjali, and Vara Lakshmi Menon -- 3. Supercapacitors : fundamental aspects / S. Jayalekshmi and Anand Puthirath -- 4. Measurement techniques for performance evaluation of supercapacitor materials and systems / Heather Andreas -- 5. Nanostructured metal oxides for supercapacitor applications / P. Ragupathy, R. Ranjusha, and Roshny Jagan -- 6. Future scope and directions of nanotechnology in creating next-generation supercapacitors / Meisam Valizadeh Kiamahalleh and S.H.S. Zein.
Summary: In order to develop a high performance supercapacitor, it is generally desirable to design the geometry and morphology of supercapacitor electrode with fully utilized surface area and well defined pore structures, which can lead to faster ion movement contacting the electroactive materials and promote faradic redox reactions. In short, the present book proposes preparation methodology of various one dimensional metal oxide nanostructures used as electrode overlays and methods by which the conductivity of the stochiometric metal oxide can be increased-- Provided by publisher.
